Elaine NG, Managing Principal, HRBS

Elaine NgElaine is the managing principal and co-founder of HRBS since June 2001 with offices in Hong Kong, Singapore and Shanghai. Prior to this role, she worked for Mercer as Managing Director (Mercer Executive Resources Consulting) covering Asia, as well as, Performance & Rewards Director (Greater China) for almost three years. Before Mercer, she was employed by ex-Corporate Resources Group for seven years and her last appointment was Regional Director, North Asia.

Elaine has proven experience assisting global and local organizations on organization and job design; base salary and incentive designs, including sales commission, executive deferred cash and stock plan, employee stock option, restricted stock and stock unit plans (pre-IPO and post-IPO); directors' remuneration review, mobility policy in Asia, relocation packages for international transfers, and localization/restructuring of expatriate packages.

With solid remuneration consulting experience spanning across the Asia region, she is an active speaker on remuneration practices to board of directors and top management. She was an invited speaker at the Society of Human Resources Management global conference in Los Angeles, Miami and Chicago in 2003, 2004 and 2005, and in Singapore in 2006. She has travelled widely in Europe, U.S, Japan and Asia Pacific countries on client engagements and as forum speaker.

Elaine has led innumerable compensation and benefits surveys in countries such as, China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Macau, South Korea, Japan, Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, Philippines, Vietnam, India, Bangladesh and Pakistan, including the luxury goods industry, global sourcing industry, medical devices/healthcare, high-tech, pharmaceutical, chemical, consumer, insurance and other studies.

Prior to consulting, Elaine worked for the Singapore General Hospital as head of human resources in restructuring the HR function during the “privatization” of the hospital, and was a human resources manager and corporate secretary in the electronics industry up to then.

Elaine is a Company Secretary (ACIS) by training from the ICSA, London, and has a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Brunel, University of West London. She is a current Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) from WorldatWork (former American Compensation Association), having acquired her certification in the United States, and attended the Advanced Management Program at Oxford University. She conducts seminars in English and Mandarin.

 
 
Po-Song Chew, General Manager, HRBS

Po-Song Chew is the General Manager of HRBS Singapore, responsible for HRBS’ consulting and business IT services.

Po-Song has undertaken and participated in consulting engagements to the full satisfaction of HRBS clients in the realm of job description, position evaluation, salary structuring, benefits review, job pricing, conducting custom pay and benefits surveys. He runs public seminars and/or in-house workshops on Excel for Compensation Management and is a frequent speaker on regional HR/C&B trends across Asia Pacific. With a solid background in IT, he is the architect behind the design, implementation, delivery and project management of HRBS online pay and benefits data solutions services provided by HRBS to it clients.

Po-Song spent several years in a consulting capacity for a Big 5 consulting firm, including successful completion of a Global Career Development program in Atlanta, USA. Po-Song's IT career started when he was a Systems Analyst at Singapore Airlines before moving on to Deloitte Consulting as Senior Consultant implementing both Oracle and SAP ERP packages, including Deloitte Consulting Atlanta, USA, and Solutions Manager at Oracle Singapore where he was responsible for architecting e-business for clients and supporting the closing of major deals. In his consulting career with Deloitte Consulting, he was responsible for successful system selections and full lifecycle package implementations of Oracle and SAP ERP solutions both in Asia and USA.

Po-Song earned a Singapore Public Service Commission Merit Scholarship to obtain his Bachelor of Arts Degree majoring in Economics and Statistics at the National University of Singapore. He obtained his Post-Graduate Diploma in System Analysis (with Distinction) from the Institute of Systems Science, National University of Singapore, and was awarded the 1992 IBM Gold Medal for being the Top Student for the course. Po-Song is bi-lingual in English and Mandarin.
