Report on Relocation Compensation & Benefits Practices to China, 2009

2009 has been a tough year for many companies, in China or not. While the Chinese government target to maintain a growth rate of 8% via massive government spending and stimulation of domestic investment and consumption, foreign organizations are said to be still struggling for growth rates that satisfy their top and bottom lines. As a result, many firms have been on a cost optimization mode!

One area that catches attention is expatriate compensation and benefits in China. Are more companies looking at localization of positions and/or incumbents and/or restructuring benefits in China?

A record 42 multinational companies participated in the HRBS 2009 China Relocation Practices Survey.
